Cathy M. EasterlyOffice Manager/Accounting
Cathy Easterly is responsible for the accounting, billing, IT and daily office functions for The Spencer Law Firm. She also assists the attorneys with special projects including franchise and securities disclosure documents.

Frequent duties include preparing and filing business incorporation documents with the Secretary of State, researching securities enforcement actions with various states, talking to enforcement personnel, organizing responses to SEC and state commissions inquiring about client filings, preparing demand letters and payment schedules and maintaining documentation.

Her research capabilities are substantial and she is used often by the lawyers in the firm to work on due diligence and background preparation. She often works with the managing principal of the firm to file Blue Sky exemption documents and prepare private placement memorandums. Ms. Easterly brings decades of experience to her role here at The Spencer Law Firm.

Licea D. SimsSenior Paralegal
Mrs. Sims is our senior paralegal and staff director. She is experienced in drafting a multitude of legal documents, performing research, document organization, scheduling, and general case management.

She also assists our attorneys while preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations. Mrs. Sims also speaks to clients regarding their cases and answers any questions the client might have. She assists the clients in setting appointments and making sure our clients remain aware the status of their files.

Mrs. Sims is responsible for keeping the firm’s docket and generally oversees the firm’s schedule. She is also responsible for case assignments among the staff and makes sure the firm runs consistently and smoothly.

Regina S. NervisLegal Assistant
Regina Nervis assists the attorneys and senior paralegal in various litigation and trial-related client matters. Her everyday duties consist of case management, organizing the firm’s documents, files and calendar, contacting the client on matters relating to his/her case, preparing and finalizing petitions, discovery requests, subpoenas and similar documents.

Mrs. Nervis oversees our firm library which includes the 50 state Blue Sky references, among other volumes and treatises. She is experienced in preparing and filing business incorporation documents with the Secretary of State, preparing LLC, partnership and corporate bylaws, consents, meeting minutes and shareholder agreements and works with the managing principal of the firm to file Blue Sky exemption documents and prepare private placement memorandums.

Liz GillespieLegal Assistant
Liz Gillespie is experienced in drafting a multitude of legal documents, research, document organization, scheduling, and general case management.

She also assists the attorneys in preparing for trials, depositions, and mediations. Ms. Gillespie speaks to clients regarding their cases and to answer any questions the clients might have. She also assists the clients in setting appointments and ensuring they remain aware of the status of their legal matters.
