Patrick is a business attorney with nearly a decade of experience representing and advising clients in a broad range of issues. He provides general counsel to clients in various areas of business and commercial law practice, including business transactions and litigation, contract negotiation and drafting, corporate, finance and investments, securities litigation, trademarks, and appellate litigation.
Patrick practices in both state and federal court and has served clients ranging from high-net-worth individuals to multi-national financial services institutions, independent specialty finance companies, lender service providers, investment banks, accounting firms, software development companies, construction and technology-based enterprises, energy and oil and gas companies, manufacturing and distribution companies, corporate officers and directors, and real estate-based entities.
Patrick is adept at managing litigation matters from inception through all phases of discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial, and has considerable experience taking and defending depositions, attending hearings, and attending mediations as lead attorney.
Among his past experiences, Patrick worked on a case involving claims against a telecommunication services company concerning the planning and permitting of a multimillion-dollar, multi-state fiber optic internet engineering and construction project. He successfully obtained a new trial for a client after a default judgment for over $400,000.00 had been entered against him. He was lead attorney in a trademark infringement lawsuit brought in federal court against a domestic for-profit corporation. He also served as lead attorney and first-chair counsel in a 3-day jury trial involving breach of contract and fraud claims against co-owners of a medical transportation service company.
In addition to his litigation practice, Patrick also reviews, drafts, and negotiates various commercial contracts and agreements, including master service agreements, employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, and technology services agreements.
Patrick is a native of Kingsville, Texas and a proud alumni of Texas A&M University–Kingsville where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance. He began his career by working at the regional headquarters of an international bank in downtown Austin, Texas. He eventually moved to Houston where he received his law degree from South Texas College of Law. Patrick has lived and worked in Houston, Texas for the past 11 years.
Prior to law school, Patrick served 8 years in the United States Army Reserve. He served in both the 887th Quartermaster Company in Alice, Texas and in the 370th Transportation Company, Detachment 1 in NAS Kingsville.
